Our Products

Plants

The mainstay of Tufton Plants' business is the growing of hardy plants and some annuals. The vast majority of stock is grown outside and left outside even during the worst that winter can throw at us. As a result our customers can be assured that their purchases will not suffer immediately they are planted as a result in change in temperature.

Here is a list of types of plants we offer:

Perennials
Small Shrubs
Roses
Dahlias
Annuals
Vegetable plants
Bulbs for spring and summer

Perennials, shrubs and annuals

We are happy to visit and discuss any requirements.  A consultation fee will be charged on an hourly rate, which will be waived upon the placing of an order over £75.00.

The subsequent order would then be delivered free of charge within a 10 mile radius.

Preserves

Labelled as Pinkhams Preserves, these are made by the lady of the house only and contain ingredients that, wherever possible, are home grown without the use of pesticides.  Other ingredients are purchased from local growers and suppliers at the Hampshire Farmers' Markets.  We are adding to the range all the time.

In accordance with Trading Standards, we are visited annually and some of our product is purchased for testing in their laboratory to ensure that the balance of ingredients meets the required standard.

Eggs

We have a flock of 35 hens some of which are Light Sussex.

They have their own small field to run about in, dustbath and in fact behave as normal chickens do.

Eggs are sold from the farm gate in our own delivery 'Granville' bicycle.

Lamb and Hoggett

Shetland and Hampshire Down - whole or half carcasses are available in October/November.  To discuss please call Jane or John.

The Shetland meat is unique , a darker meat with a delicious flavour.  This is sold at 18 months to give the animal time to develop a reasonable size, although still manageable for a couple or small family.

Pork

Two rare breed Saddleback crosses provided us with the tenderest pork chops, bacon, joints and sausages. It's an old cliché but you really can taste the difference.

Next we tried Oxford Sandy & Black - quite different personalities, but they still ended up in the freezer.

Sorry folks, very limited supply at the moment but watch this space.
